Mission Trip to Africa, An Interview with my Husband {Part 3}

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my husband’s first mission trip. It was certainly a life-changing experience for all of us.

Although my husband was the one on the trip, the rest of us were at home praying for his safe return.

Mission Trip to Africa – An Interview with my Husband {Part 2}

Amazing…..it’s just amazing here.  I can’t quit saying the word Amazing! That is what I heard each time I spoke to my husband while he was in Ghana, West Africa. We got to speak a lot more than I thought we would and each time he would be more amazed with what he was experiencing.

Tacos Tonight

It’s a great day for tacos!

How about trying a homemade recipe for taco seasoning?

Why would you do THAT when there are packets of taco seasoning you can purchase at the store for less than a dollar, which would also make your life so much easier?

4 More Blogging Tips From a New Blogger

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

By no means do I consider myself an expert blogger.

This blog was created a little over a year ago and I just started blogging more seriously 6 months ago. I have taken this process very slowly, taking one small step at a time.  In fact, there are some things that I just learned to do over the past 2 weeks, like scheduling posts and changing the fonts up.

Birthday Night

On Thursday night we celebrated our youngest child’s birthday. Today is her actual birthday. She was 3 years old at 2 am this morning 🙂

We celebrated with cake (and ice-cream which I left in the freezer). While we did not have a “party” our oldest son and his family joined us, along with one set of grandparents (who live nearby) and a dear friend who happened to be in the area.

The Baseball Field and The Judgement

I’ve seen her before.

At the baseball field, where my children play.

She looks to be 19 or 20. She always looks the same.

Here she comes again, Continue reading The Baseball Field and The Judgement

Family Night, Dinner and the Lunch Box

Last week, I told you how my husband surprised me and took our family out on the town for family night. He did a repeat this week 🙂 You all are going to think that we go out to eat all the time, but we really do not.

This trip was two-fold. My husband has needed a new lunch box for months but has not been able to find the right one.

Blogging Tips from a New Blogger

Even though my blog is over a year old, I still consider myself a new blogger.

A few years ago, my husband and I felt led to start a blog. I did a little research on it and we prayed about it for a while. Several months later Blogelina ran an awesome deal that was just to good to turn down (knowing that the Lord had led us in this direction, we felt that this was confirmation).  So, we jumped on the offer and I began doing even more research.

So much research in fact that I almost did not pursue the blog (read about that here).

Simple Family Night

We were able to do a family night last night. My husband text me before getting home from work and asked if we would like to go out to eat. We don’t make a habit of eating out so this was a nice surprise.  A few minutes before I got the text I was sitting at the kitchen table getting school schedules figured out and was wondering what in the world we were going to have for supper and when I was going to make it to the grocery store. So, when I got his text, it was a relief. I knew that if we went out to eat we could also hit the grocery store.

You Know You’re From The South If You Eat Biscuits and Chocolate Gravy

You know you’re from the South if you eat biscuits and chocolate gravy for breakfast!

This was a staple in my grandmother’s house. When my sister and I would spend the night with my grandmother, not a morning went by that we didn’t have cat head  biscuits and chocolate gravy. It was also a staple in my husband’s grandmother’s home. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he also loves chocolate gravy. Needless to say, it is now a staple in my home.
